Scholarships

Whether you’re aspiring to achieve an IREM credential and/or looking to enrich your knowledge, IREM is committed to helping you reach your professional development goals. Cost doesn’t have to be an obstacle – IREM has a wide array of scholarships available to help alleviate the financial burdens associated with higher education.

Our Chapter offers the following scholarships:

The St. Louis Chapter will offer (5) $500 scholarships to membership in 2009. Application for the scholarships will be reviewed by the Past Presidents Committee and awarded by financial need. (See below for more information.)

Additionally, IREM offers scholarship programs at the national level through the IREM Foundation. The IREM Foundation awards scholarships to qualified students at all career stages, from those currently enrolled in college to those working towards an IREM credential. St. Louis Chapter 11 Scholarship Application

IREM Scholarship – St. Louis Chapter 11

Purpose:

The purpose of the IREM® St. Louis Chapter 11 Scholarship program is to provide worthy individuals, who are financially incapable, the opportunity to attend IREM®’s courses, either in a classroom setting, online or through home study.

Administration:

The Past-Presidents Council of IREM® St. Louis Chapter 11 administers this program. It has complete and final authority to confer or revoke scholarships, make other decisions pertaining to the use of funds in the scholarship program, and determine the specific courses recipients shall attend under this program. Applications are evaluated and scholarships awarded annually and reviewed quarterly.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:

Be a citizen of the United States or an eligible non-resident
Be of legal age in the state in which the applicant resides
Be currently employed in some aspect of the real estate field
Complete the application form and submit with it all of the items required: current resume; an affidavit from the applicant’s employer verifying that the applicant receives limited or no financial aid from the employer; and a personal letter from the applicant describing the applicant’s career objectives and including information that would be helpful to the Scholarship Committee in considering the need for scholarship assistance.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be reviewed according to the following criteria:

Financial Need
Commitment to real estate management as a career; objective and probability of success in this career
Academic performance
Character, as demonstrated by community service, participation in Chapter 11 meetings and events, etc.

Amount of Scholarship:

Four (4) $500 scholarships are available. Awards are made in a specific amount. The scholarship must be used for IREM® course tuition within a 12-month period after the award. Recipients must submit a scholarship course registration form before funds are released. Individuals may receive one scholarship in a calendar year.
